A Milford Track highlight: The view over Clinton Valley from Mackinnon Pass
(Photo my own)

A while ago I wrote about walking the Milford Track solo. It’s one of New Zealand’s Great Walks, and one of the most famous walks in the world.

Today and for the next three Fridays it’s being published on Stuff.co.nz:

COVID-19 has smashed any possibility of international travel for the forseeable future, and Kiwis are being encouraged to journey and adventure in their own backyard.

I hope my Milford Chronicles encourage people to get out and explore parts of New Zealand they’ve never seen, and in particular to experience our spectacular native bush.

My next adventure? I’ll be knocking off another of New Zealand’s Great Walks early next year – the Rakiura Track on Stewart Island – again, by myself.

I look forward to writing about that adventure too.

    1. Oh, how wonderful! I am quietly jealous about your upcoming December adventure…I would dearly love to do it again. Honestly, walking solo is exciting and can bring you so much. All the best to you. X
